SEIA makes major solar project data available to the public through the map below. SEIA members have exclusive access to the list as a sortable, searchable MS Excel file that is updated monthly.

How is the list of solar projects gathered?

The information in the list was gathered from public announcements of solar projects in the form of company press releases, news releases, and, in some cases, conversations with individual developers. It is not a comprehensive list of all utility-scale projects under development.

There are more than 7,950 major solar projects currently in the database, representing over 340 GWdc of capacity. There are over 1,200 major energy storage projects currently in the database, representing more than 89,000 MWh of capacity. The list shows that there are more than 180 GWdc of major solar projects currently operating.

Will BP build a wind and solar farm in 2024?
